Bouché Transport continues to expand in logistics
Bouché Transport is continuing its expansion in the logistics sector in Alsace-Lorraine with a new platform near its headquarters.
Bouché Transport is continuing to expand in its stronghold between Alsace and Lorraine. Following the opening of a 6,500 m2 warehouse in the course of this year, it is launching a new 10 million euro investment to build an additional 12,000 m2 platform at its headquarters in Phalsbourg (Moselle). This will give it a storage capacity of 30,000 m2.
The permit for the new premises was submitted at the end of November, with the aim of starting work next spring and bringing the facility into service in the summer of 2022. This extension will be accompanied by the creation of 45 jobs, bringing the total number of employees to 180.
“We are investing in order to continue to have a strong presence in the local market, which we have developed as a result of diversification from a few long-standing customers such as the packaging manufacturer Amcor in Sarrebourg,” says Daniel Gehringer, Managing Director. He took over the operational management of the company and acquired a minority shareholding from the founding Bouché family in 2016.
Locally unavoidable
The last few years have been marked by regular expansion, which the health crisis has not slowed down. As a result, Bouché Transport has established itself as the key independent SME for the surrounding shippers in the transport and logistics sector. This is complemented by a garage activity as part of a contract to repair heavy goods vehicles for the motorway concessionaire Sanef on a section of the A4 motorway.
The company, with a turnover of 14 million euros in 2019, is aiming for external growth in its transport business, “with a profile of companies with a fleet of 30 to 50 vehicles, and with the aim in particular of acquiring expertise in temperature-controlled transport“, explains Daniel Gehringer.
